Description

Summary/General Description Of Job:

The incumbent is a Field Construction Quality Control Manager/ Site Safety & Health Officer responsible for providing project control and direction, as well as monitoring and coordinating quality control, in the execution of field construction activities.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Supervises all field construction activities. Develops and adheres to budgeting requirements. Coordinates material lead times and deliveries for proper delivery sequencing. Updates construction schedule daily to document work progress, as well as work delays. Records work site activity to include crew size, persons of respinsiblity, and all visitors to the work site. Communicates with and updates government and military personnel during field visits. Oversees or conducts site-specific quality tests. Gathers statistical data and specifications to determine present standards. Audits, analyzes, and provides evaluation of performance to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, stipulations, and standards. Performs and documents safety audits reporting findings to Project Manager. Develops, implements and maintains safety programs and documentation, including the following: medical surveillance, respiratory protection, confined space entry, hazardous energy (lockout/tagout), scaffolding, fall protection, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, communication, electrical safety general procedures. Ensures project complies with all safety regulatiosn stated in 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, as well as state and or contractual standards to avoid fines, civil penalties or criminal prosecution. Audits site-specific quality control documentation and records. Implements plans which address QA/QC matters. Ensures adherence to the Chugach Field Safety Program. Performs other duties as assigned

Accountable For:

Knowledge of general construction methods and practices. Knowledge of common safety practices and protective equipment used on a construction site. Intermediate skills in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Skill in the use of hand and power tools commonly used in the construction trade. Ability to give direction and lead assigned tasks. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical drawings/procedures and government regulations/specifications. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and customers. Ability to define problems and collect data, establish facts and develop solutions accordingly. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Qualifications

Mandatory

High School diploma or equivalent. Certified Quality Manager (CQM) Certification 30-hour OSHA safety class or equivalent within the last five years. 40-hour Construction Hazard Awareness Course. Ten (10) years of experience on construction projects to include five (5) years of supervisory experience. Valid U.S. Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
