The Human Resources team helps attract and recruit diverse talent, and works to provide employees with competitive benefits, leadership resources and the support to be successful at United.
**Job overview and responsibilities**
Providing all aspects of HR Support to multiple workgroups operating in International countries. Oversee the day to day HR operation in designated region(s)
Partnering w/ Business leaders
+ Liaise with Business Partners on issues such as employee recognition, recruitment, promotion, retention, development, change management, grievances, compensation & benefits, inflationary pressures, company investigations, etc.
+ Participate in organizational planning regarding structure, job design and staffing
+ Coordinate activities across division lines. Interface with Business Partners regarding disciplinary actions, and Review employee appeals through complaint procedure where applicable
+ Address, investigate and resolve employee issues
+ Maintain knowledge of and familiarity with local market practices, governmental laws and regulations
+ Support new location start-up activity
+ Provide support for performance management including PPR and performance counseling
Employee Relations
+ Act as an employee champion and change agent
+ Work closely with management and employee to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
+ Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
+ Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation in dealing with employee relations issues
Lead/Develop HR Team
+ Mentor and direct the activity of HR Generalists and HR Coordinator covering various countries/workgroups in the region
+ Serve as the subject matter expert in HR for the Region and work with team members to determine appropriate solutions to HR related issues
+ Set goals for the team and provide guidance and direction to encourage completion
Required
+ BA/BS or equivalent work experience
+ 3+ years in HR-related field (generalist, labor specialist, compensation) or management role with heavy HR responsibilities
+ Experience interfacing and working cross-culturally with diverse business partners
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business partners’ needs and goals by applying HR solutions to achieve results
+ Excellent business partner management and business acumen skills
+ Successful influencing skills
+ Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Experience in employee development, coaching, organizational design, recruiting, compensation, employee relations, training and HR project management and program execution
+ HR business acumen – able to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
+ Ability to function and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to meet airline operational needs
+ Ability to build trusted relationships through all levels of the organization
+ Strong relationship building, conflict management proficiency, problem solving, time management, and judgement skills
+ Strong background in HR policies and practices
+ Travel required as needed
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
**Preferred**
+ PHR/SPHR/GPHR or equivalent International certification
+ International compensation knowledge
+ Current/Recent experience with HR in International locations
