### Summary

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.

### Responsibilities

As a General Supply Specialist, you will be responsible for the following duties:

* Serves as an expert on inventory account processing, provides instruction, direction, and assistance to the Defense Fuel Support Points (DFSPs) on matters relative to product accountability, system processes, and resolution of inventory accounting and billing discrepancies.

* Reviews Movements Under Investigation (MUI) reports for excessive in-transit gains/losses and ensures DFSP conducts causative research to determine the reasons for the excessive in-transit gains/losses.

* Monitors and analyzes the daily fuel inventory records for Defense Working Capital Funded DLA-owned petroleum inventory at assigned DFSPs for timeliness and accuracy.

* Works with several different fuel accounting systems and draws on practical work experience to resolve discrepancies between the various inventory systems and inventory account reconciliation problems.

* Ensures excessive daily operating gains/losses are investigated as the occur by the DFSPs and adequate explanations are documented.

This is a Expeditionary Civilian (EC) position. The incumbent will be designated as Emergency Essential. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent may be required to deploy via temporary reassignment or be required to stay in place to support contingency operations. The incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively; therefore, the position requires the incumbent to be screened from military recall. Military Reservists selected for an EC position must arrange for a military deployment waiver from the Secretary Service level or transfer to the IRR Standby Reserve prior to appointment to an EC position. The waiver or transfer will remain in effect while assigned to the EC position. This requirement must be met prior to placement in an EC position. Positions identified as EE are subject to deployment to combat support situations. Deployment will be via Temporary Duty (TDY) orders. Deployment may entitle the employee to additional monetary compensation dependent upon the deployment location. Additional allocations are based on the Department of State's determination of a combat zone.

### Qualifications

To qualify for a General Supply Specialist, your resume must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) or competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

* Experience performing inventory account processing, product accountability,

and resolving billing discrepancies.

* Experience monitoring unmatched purchase and stock transfer movements.

B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience at the GS-12 level.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills and abilities) in the following areas:

* Knowledge of inventory management policies and practices

* Knowledge of fuel inventory accounting policies

* Ability to analyze fuel supply accounts
