### Responsibilities
* You will apply technical knowledge of engineering practices and constructions methods in conjunction with sound judgement throughout the performance of his/her duties.
* You will serve as a civil construction Engineering Technician and provide engineering support services in the field of construction contracts primarily between the Navy/Marine Corps/Air Force and private contractors.
* You will provide coordination of the construction quality management programs for assigned projects.
* You will review and provide recommendations towards approval of contractor quality control plan.
* You will ensure contractor certifies boilers and other pressure vessels, vertical transport systems, and crane systems.

* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Facilities Engineering Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
### Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing engineering support services in the field of construction contracts.
GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing engineering support services in the field of construction contracts; investigating problems arising during construction contracts and providing recommendations to contract modification negotiations.

This announcement uses the Technical Acquisition direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 13.01% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
Pay Retention will be extended to eligible Department of Defense employees.
Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
