Shore Lead Engineer (JRM Guam FSET Network Support) - Vectrus (Guam)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Senior Network Systems Engineer provides seniorlevel engineering operational support tothe Joint Region Marianas Region Networks, BCO\-Net and ONE\-NET \(OCONUS NavalEnterprise Network\)\. Provides high levelnetwork architecture recommendations for network migration and transition\. Provides support for installations, upgrades,remote and on\-site support and troubleshooting for network/server architecturesand devices including servers, routers/switches, PCs, server backups,virtualized configurations, HBSS/ACAS and SAN/NAS storage\. Provides support for configuration managementand accreditation of systems\. Frequently develops, reviews, or updatesdocumentation\. Travel may be required\. \(5%\)
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Provide support to Joint Region Marianasstaff for support of regional networks, including assessment of requirements,and development of capabilities to meetrequirements\.
Provide project planning, engineering, andintegration oversight to support local systems including Regional Dispatch,Intrusion Detection, Fire Alarm, Industrial Control, Access Control, and VideoSurveillance systems during and after transition from BCO\-NET to Joint RegionMarianas Region Enclave network\.
Develop system architecture documents addressingsystems and network infrastructure requirements\.
Identify network diversity and redundancy upgradesto enhance communications/network infrastructure in order to support additionaldata, multimedia of Regional Dispatch, Intrusion Detection, Fire Alarm,Industrial Control, Access Control, and Video surveillance systems\.
Use configuration management processes to documentbaseline and modifications to the Joint Region Marianas Region Enclave systemarchitecture\.
Provide system and network administration oversightto Joint Region Marianas J6 system and network administrators\.
Candidate must be capable of working independentlywith little or no supervision in a high operations tempo environment\.
Performs other duties as assigned\.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENTDIRECTLY USED:
NavyONE\-NET/JRM computer systems will be used primarily\. Cisco IOS, TACACS,Microsoft Windows Server/Desktop, Microsoft Configuration Manager 2012, Remedy,Nexxus Storage, Quantum, CommVault, Visio, HBSS, also utilized\.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Candidate will primarily work on\-site atJRM, Guam\. There will be frequent travel required to sites across Guam\. In order to provide required service tocustomer base, work at times other than normal work week hours will be requiredto participate in meetings, troubleshooting efforts, and installations\. Workwill often be in computer facilities at JRM Guam or ONE\-NET
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Personnel may be required tostand or sit for prolonged periods of time\. Individual must be able to lift upto 30 lbs\. unassisted\.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted forone year of education, if degree is required\.
BS inInformation Technology \(or equivalent technical degree\) or 8 years technicalexperience in related discipline required\. CISCO or Windows certification to IAT2level required as well as Sec CE or other equivalent or higher certification IA\(IAT2 per DoD Inst 8750\.1\) required\. Multiple certifications highly desired\.
Experience:
6\-8 years of experience working on an enterprisenetwork or equivalent required\. Candidate must have senior level experience in networkarchitecture/design to support real\-time applications, configurationmanagement, and requirements analysis\. Candidatemust have experience with Networks \(CISCO\), Windows system, VMWare \(Datacenterpreferred\), SAN/NAS storage\. 2 years’experience on a military enterprise network highly desired\. Experience working on ONE\-NET or NMCI orother regional network as a network engineer highly desired\. Must be experienced with IAVAs and patching,with operational experience highly desired\. Ability to produce qualitydocumentation required\. Ability totroubleshoot network and operating system issues across multiple platformsrequired\. The candidate must be familiar with DoD Certification andAccreditation requirements \(DISA STIGs, DITSCAP/DIACAP requirements\), and mustbe experienced in security remediation of network systems\. Experience with HBSS/ACAS highlyrequired\. Experience using Remedy orother system for ticket documentation/resolution highly desired\.
Skills:
Mustbe able to communicate well both orally and in writing\. Mustbe able to communicate well with senior Navy officials and technical personnel\. Must be able to provide OJT to technicalpersonnel and modify technical documentation including BoMs, SOVTs, BESEPinputs and other systems engineering documents\. Must be able to use Visio or other tools to develop architecture diagramsand prepare or support brief preparation under direction from the network lead\.
