### Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
* You will operate water pumping plants and treatment equipment, and sewage pumping situations, visits water plants, swimming pools, water demineralization plant and sewage lift stations to check equipment operation.
* You will operate equipment through manual control at the operating sites.
* You will read and check temperature, water, and oil pressure, gauges on electric, diesel or gasoline engines, check pressure gauges on distribution line, read instruments measuring, volts, and amps, manipulate valves, and shuts off motors precaution when appropriate.
* You will make chlorine tests of water samples by use of a comparator, and make test reports showing chlorine present before and after treatment.
* You will perform preventive maintenance and minor repair work to water works and sewage disposal equipment, in conjunctions with plant operator duties.

This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. The incumbent must provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems. The incumbent must maintain certain levels of medical, security, performance, conduct and overall fitness that make them suitable for assignment.
This position is designated tropical cyclone/sever weather essential. The incumbent of this position is designated as a "Tropical Cyclone/Severe Weather Essential Emmployee." The incumbent's services may be required and must continue to work regardless weather conditions. The incumbent may be subject to recall to duty if a condition change should occur while in a non-duty status and mya be required to work overtime. The incumbent is expected to work unless otherwise notified. Normally employees are expected to be prepared to cope with difficult driving conditions caused by wind or rain. It is understood what when a Tropical Cyclone Condition I is declared on Andersen Air Force Base all civilian employees will be released administratively except those identified as a Cyclone Essential employees. The incumbent may be released from duty to secure his/her home and them must return to his/her essential duties. The incumbent will continue in duty status regardless of the Wing Commander's decision to release non-essential employees administratively (without changes to leave).
Selectee must be able to become certified as a Class II Water Distribution System Operator and a Water Treatment Plant Operator within one year of appointment.
